ABOUT ME:

A notorious daydreamer and hopeless romantic, Kathleen R. Jorgensen knew it was only a matter of time before she became a romance writer.

She learned to read by age four and had her first library card before her fifth birthday.  To this day, she can lose herself for hours among the books at her local public library or her neighborhood bookstore.

Painfully shy and often sick as a child, Kathy realized that as long as she had a good book, she was never alone or lonely.

Quickly making the leap from reading to making up stories, Kathy has entertained friends and family almost all of her life with the stories that play inside her head.

In her left-brain life, Kathy was a manager of six departments for a local insurance company and earned the professional designation of Fellow in the Life Management Institute (FLMI).  She also held numerous office support positions in the mental health field including office manager, public relations liaison, and crisis interventionist where she handled suicide calls on a daily basis.  Currently, she is self-employed in medical billing and is a Notary.

In her right-brain life, Kathy writes mysteries, romantic suspense and women's fiction novels.

Actively seeking representation and pursuing her goal of publication, Kathy is busy on her next novel with plots for six or seven more books screaming to be heard.  She loves to brainstorm, critique and judge contests.

As a member of Romance Writers of America (RWA), Kathy belongs to Virginia Romance Writers (VRW), where she currently serves on the Program Committee.  Prior to that, she served as Secretary for two years and as co-Vice President with Cathy Maxwell for two years.

Kathy is also a member of Washington Romance Writers (WRW) and Kiss of Death (KOD), the mystery and suspense online chapter, as well as Sisters in Crime.

A native of Richmond, Virginia, Kathy is the mother of two grown children and currently resides in the “city of the monuments” with her husband, Jorgen, and her tuxedo cat, Ben.
